Nine days of music, community and shared experiences: from 11 to 19 July, kultur.farm in Groß Pankow, founded by Jule and Clemens Seemann, was transformed into a vibrant festival campus for the very first edition of the kultur.farm.festival. Between the concert barn, village disco, workshops, excursions and participatory events, the festival deliberately blurred the boundaries between art, everyday life and rural living. The programme featured artists including Johanna Summer, Pascal Schumacher, treppenhausorchester and, as a grand finale, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin with Asya Fateyeva under Kazuki Yamada.

Together with kultur.farm, fast forward classical curated the artistic programme and helped develop the festival’s sustainability concept. The aim was to create a festival that combined internationally acclaimed artists with strong local connections while exploring new approaches to sustainable cultural work in rural areas.

What made the festival special was not only its musical diversity, ranging from classical and jazz to electronic music, but also its deep connection to the region. Concerts took audiences to unique locations across the Prignitz, while the GroßPankChor, local musicians and visitors themselves became active participants in shaping the festival experience. Camping, communal meals, sing-alongs and discussions turned kultur.farm into a place of encounter, exchange and collective creativity for an entire week.

The festival’s unique atmosphere did not go unnoticed beyond the region. Both the ARD Tagesthemen and the ARD Mittagsmagazin featured reports on kultur.farm and its vision of an open and welcoming cultural hub in a rural setting. For us, the festival was a powerful demonstration that artistic excellence, community engagement and sustainable development can thrive together far beyond the major urban centres.
