Aurora Orchestra debut at Elbphilharmonie

Celebrated premiere in Hamburg

On Friday, 30 September 2022, the Aurora Orchestra, under the baton of Nicholas Collon, celebrated its debut at the Elbphilharmonie. The French programme began with Thomas Adès' "Three Studies from Couperin", followed by the brilliant interpretation of Ravel's jazzy Piano Concerto in G major by the evening's soloist, Alexandre Tharaud. The concert culminated in Berlioz' "Symphonie fantastique", which the orchestra performed from memory and standing up, which was celebrated by the audience with standing ovations and bravos. In return, the orchestra thanked the crowd with a unique encore in which the musicians spread out throughout the hall and repeated part of the work in the midst of the audience.
