New signing: Francesco Tristano

We are delighted to welcome Francesco Tristano at fast forward classical.

Born in Luxembourg, Francesco Tristano tours the world performing a repertoire of Baroque and contemporary music. He also records dance tracks for electronic music labels while continuing his ambitious project of recording the complete piano works of Johann Sebastian Bach. He also produces albums woven from his personal stories, exploring the sensitivity and tonal diversity of the piano.

His fascination with Bach's clarity, his interest in the rhythmic pulse of techno and his exploration of sounds, effects and timbres through composers such as Cage and Ligeti can be traced back to his time as a student at the Juilliard School in New York. As part of a rebellious group of students who pored over music theory books and practised the piano during the day only to spend their evenings exploring the city's techno scene, he discovered Detroit's most hypnotic export and danced to legendary DJ sets by Danny Tenaglia at Twilo. He realised that electronic music evoked a kind of ecstasy that matched his own vision of music: a place without stylistic or temporal boundaries.

Welcome to our agency, Francesco!
