The Orchester im Treppenhaus takes DISCO on tour!

With its ‘DISCO Tour 2025’, the Orchester im Treppenhaus has once again proven that classical music also works in clubs.

From 30 April to 10 May, the ensemble transformed concert halls in Bielefeld, Hanover, Munich, Linz, Weimar, Hamburg and Rathenow into pulsating dance floors, without any electronics, using only acoustic instruments. The programme combined works by Carlos Cipa, Robin Haigh, Judd Greenstein and other composers into a hypnotic mix of minimal grooves, beats and experimental soundscapes. The audience and musicians met on equal terms, creating a direct, almost intimate atmosphere between the dance floor and the orchestra's sound. In Rathenow in particular, the concept was taken a step further. After the concert, the event seamlessly transitioned into a club night with DJs. The reactions were overwhelmingly enthusiastic. There were standing ovations, dancing people and a feeling of having left concert conventions behind.
