CARNIVAL
Roll up, roll up!
This invitation was extended to children and adults in London, Potsdam, Bad Kissingen, Ingolstadt, Vevey and The Hague this year, as Aurora Orchestra presented their latest spectacle: CARNIVAL. Together with the British theatre production company Frantic Assembly and a new composition by Richard Ayres, the orchestra rewrote the story of Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals. Musicians held captive by a mad professor. Elephants suddenly appearing on stage. Flute players flying through the room. The bizarre story was narrated by Birgit Minichmayr (German) and Naomi Frederick (English, French).
With CARNIVAL, Aurora Orchestra once again expands the concept of ‘orchestral theatre’ – we are excited to see where this is heading…
